Shirley E. (Phaneuf) Welch, 96, of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at Chapin Center in Springfield. She was a retired accountant for the City of Springfield and also a bookkeeper for Danaher Tool Co., retiring in 1985. Shirley was born on June 10, 1926 in Springfield and was the daughter of the late William G. and Helen J. (Lewandowski) Phaneuf. Besides her parents, she is predeceased by her husband, Leo V. Welch and her son, Brian Welch. Shirley is survived by her friend, Zenaida Gonzalez and many cousins. A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 11 am at St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Chicopee.
